This was a really enjoyable contract. I hit it off immediately with the client. Finally I met someone who had the same passion for contrasting primary colours. The project was very simple requiring landscaping of two small areas. A lower paved courtyard with existing 8×6’ garden shed, and upper area, also paved.
The clients required:
- Softening and planting
- Graden lighting
- Raised beds
- Hardwood decking
- Yellow limestone paving
- Painting with primary colours
- Low maintenance
- Lush planting
The design I created covered all the above, including: Raised bed using cement rendered 4” solids capped with yellow limestone, Yellow limestone patio using 600x300mm slabs, Feature bed in front of window, Low voltage garden lighting and Bangkiri upper deck.
The planting was simple, including lush Bamboo in raised bed. This really softened the area. Three Privet Lollipops within feature bed, framing area from within.
The upper patio was simply decked with ‘Bangkiri’ hardwood. The area was bordered with mixed sized Wexford beach pebble. Funky furniture was then sourced for this area.
Now came the real fun. We used the colour wheel to help with our colour choices/contrasts
This project really represents the importance of colour and the impact it can have.
The clients were delighted with the results and posted the following five star review:
“Fantastic experience of working with Kevin to create a magnificent new garden for our home. His workmanship is top quality and he is engaged fully in the project from start to finish. We’d highly recommend him.“
