Garden Fencing Design Dublin and Wicklow

Vertical fencing

The surrounds of a garden are very important, creating the outdoor room effect. The surrounds hold the eye in the space and create a backdrop for planting. Timber garden fencing design is a cost effective and versatile option. Unlike walls and hedges the fence dose not dry out the ground below. Compared to a wall the fence is more organic and takes up less space. In common with a hedge the fence has a natural beauty but reduces maintenance in the form of routine clipping and trips to the dump. There are many different fence designs to choose from which will add instant effect to your garden.

Fencing in Rathfarnham Dublin

This was an exciting project we completed in Rathfarnham, Dublin. The wall prior to work was dull and lacked imagination. We clad the existing using 150x25mm planed pressure-treated Scandinavian Spruce boards laid vertically. The 150x25mm boards were connected to 50x50mm horizontal joists which were connected to the wall horizontally. The wall was finished to a height of 2m and capped with 50x25mm latts, which overhang and gave a great finish. We then painted the entire fence with Bondex teak stain. The stain looked fabulous as it brought out all the grain filigree within the timber.

Fencing Project in Leopardstown, Dublin

This was a best in class example of how fencing can add value and beauty to a garden design. The fencing, gardenroom/shed and beds were then painted with contrasting colours. Just two colours, grey and a beautiful deep blue almost black colour. The colours were chosen by the clients. I was conservative about the colours, but the clients went for a striking combination which really worked. Again I was put out because the combination was fantastic.
