The design I proposed was a simple sunken garden which would cover all of the above. To create we excavated down 600mm and removed 30 tonne of soil. A raised bed was installed using 4” solids, rendered top and sides around the circumference. A stainless steel waterfeature was included within the raised bed providing ambiance. A white Porceline path, patio and synthetic lawn filled the space. We bordered the whole area with silver granite cobble including recessed lighting to glaze raised beds at night. Lighting was also installed within the raised beds. Porceline steps lead up to the back door with a path leading around to newly a installed side gate. The raised beds, back wall and concrete posts were painted white and the fence painted with Sadolins ‘Teak’. The planting was low maintenance with Specimen Japanese maples and privet lollipops giving instant impact.
I should mention a 700mm test hole was dug before we started this job. The client kept an eye on the hole for 3 months before we started. This was to make sure the water table was low enough. The clients were delighted with the job and kindly posted the following five star google review:
“The level of hard work, attention to detail and professionalism that Kevin provides is more than we could have asked for.
