This was a large back garden surrounded by rendered concrete walls. The lawn was uneven and waterlogged in the centre. Some planting existed around the perimeter. The back boundary was overlooked. A shiplap wall extension had been installed along the left boundary.
The clients required:

The garden design included: Large Yellow limestone patio area surrounding extension, Raised meandering beds around an egg shaped synthetic grass lawn, Bordering of lawn with double oatmeal cobble edge, Installation of soakaway under synthetic grass lawn for drainage, Planting of beds with suitable specimens/trees to give instant impact, Underplanting with suitable shrubs/perennials, Installation of low voltage garden lighting system, Mulching of beds with 75mm bark mulch to reduce maintenance.
The only design change I made was discounting of Pleached Evergreen hedge along back boundary, opting instead for a further raised bed within lower raised bed and planted with fast growing specimen bamboo to afford privacy.
The front garden was also landscaped for Low maintenance, and included: Removal of lawn and installation of Ballylusk gravel area surrounded by tumbled oatmeal granite cobbles, Planting of surrounds with suitable specimens, shrubs and Laurel hedge, Small section of fencing to fill gap into neighbours garden.
