Begonia Flower

Ireland has unpredictable weather at the best of times. Our summers have a mixture of rain, sun and wind which can make gardening and landscaping a challange. Irish gardens have always been designed and landscaped. The victorians, for example, took pride in their garden designs and you can still see the results today. Gardens in South Dublin like Dun Laoghaire and Blackrock have the remenents of elaborate bedding designs.

A flower that can be used for bedding designs is the Begonia. It is a flower that is quite useful in Ireland as it can thrive in the shade and under trees. With the weather we have in Ireland during the summer this can be quite useful for landscaping. You can get this flower in a range of colours like white, pink and red. The flowering period for the Begonia flower is from June to September.
